This Foundational Class is an introductory class and prerequisite for a multiple series to be offered by Sue & Kimia in Spring 2025.
Shamanism arose out of the Earth from the people 75,000 years ago at a time when the feminine aspect was the foundation of everything. Jung himself was considered a medicine man or shaman, or a ‘person who knows’. Shamanism is the path of direct revelation and searching for personal evidence of the divine in the waking dream while bringing to light the ego through death and rebirth and holding the tension of opposites of the unconscious (spirit realm/ non-ordinary reality) and the conscious, (ordinary reality).
The path of shamanism is all about stalking and killing fear and seeing the maladaptive ego as a parasite in order to step more fully into essence. This foundational course will define symbols and shamans; describe characteristics and attributes of the shaman; and speak to how/why Jung got called a “shaman.” Co-Led by Sue Mehrtens & Kimia Maleki.
