In the last few weeks, several people have contacted me wondering what Jung might have to say about the numerous reports of lights in the skies. Jung had much to say, as I discuss in detail in an essay "Signs in the Skies: Jung on UFOs," archived on our Jungian Center web site. This essay sheds light not only on Jung's opinion of these unidentified phenomena, but also on his empiricism, his psychology, and his sensitivity to the collective consciousness. To check this out, go to the Essays section on our site, click on "Essays by title" and scroll down to "Signs…".

Our blog essay for February arose from an article in The New York Times on Willie Nelson, which sparked inspiration on how this icon of our contemporary culture offers us a vivid illustration of Jung's concept of individuation. The URL for it is:

Meeting Your Inner Partner, Wednesdays, Feb. 5, 12, 19 & 26; 7-9PM; via Zoom; $60,
One of the most important of Jung’s theories was his idea of the inner partner. Part of the individuation process is becoming aware of this inner energy and how it shows up in our lives, projected on to other human beings that we are attracted to, fall in love with, marry, fight with and struggle to understand. This workshop supports participants wising up to the qualities and nature of their inner partner via a series of exercises and analysis of their astrological chart. Prerequisite: the course on Anima/Animus.

JUNG ON AMERICA - A Collection of Essays in Print
What would Jung think of our “Too-Big-to-Fail” institutions?
What would Jung make of our American exceptionalism?
How would Jung describe America’s shadow?
What about the idea of reparations?
These and other similar questions drawn from the daily headlines have been posed by students at the Jungian Center for the Spiritual Sciences, and they form the substance of this book. Although Carl Jung died in 1961, his intuition and wisdom transcend time and makes his writings as pertinent now as it was in the twentieth century. So we can draw upon his ideas as we grapple with the challenges we face now.
