1 July 2024
Dear Friends,

Summers in Vermont are usually pleasantly warm, but now, with global warming,
95 degrees (Farenheit) and humid is not pleasant. Here at the Jungian Center we are
doing our bit to limit carbon emissions by using Zoom for all our courses, so driving is
cut to a minimum. This is in alignment with Carl Jung's values: he was a great Nature
lover, and would be horrified at what is happening to the planet.

As I note below, July was Jung's birthday month (the 29th , born 149 years ago).
We'll have to think up a special way in 2025 to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Jung's
birth. Any ideas? Send them to me at info@jungiancenter.org.

As we work on planning the courses coming up in the year ahead--many of which
were suggested by our students--we are grateful for your input and ideas. Our full list of
Fall term courses will be posted on August 1 st.

Stay cool!

Sue

For this month:
July:
This is Jung's birthday month (July 29, 1875), so we offer our "Introduction to Jung" self-directed distance-learning course, and our book, C.G. Jung: His Life, is a good way to
celebrate Jung's life and wisdom.

C.G. Jung: His Life, His Tools, His Writings

By Sue Mehrtens, Ph.D.

Pages: 298 - Available in paperback format only

C.G. Jung: His Life, His Tools, His Writings combines a succinct biography of Jung the man with an in-depth discussion of the tools and techniques he used in his  practice of analytical psychology, along with an overview of the enormous body of his written works.

Get to know the human side of Jung--often forgotten in the focus we put on his ideas, concepts and psychology--in this portrait of the man's likes and dislikes, his hobbies and interests, his type and personality, his shadow side and complexes, and his life as husband and father. Peer into Jung's inner life through his own dreams, and meet the Jung of many labels, from the "ladies' man," surrounded by his many "Valkyries," to the "mystic" and "father of the New Age."
