This time of year sees Vermont at its most beautiful--entire hillsides red and gold, highways lined with the warm brown of the oaks and the yellow of the tamaracks--it's no wonder we see millions of tourists on our roads in Fall.
We hope you'll join us for these interesting programs, and have a wonderful month of cool nights, warm days and good health.
Each month we offer a "special," a discount on one or more self-directed courses and/or book.
For this month of October: Two holidays show up on American calendars in October--Halloween and Indigenous Peoples Day. The latter gives us the opportunity to contemplate our shadow side, in our "Shadow Work" self-directed distance-learning course, since for far too long we regarded Native peoples as inferior. As October draws to a close, ghosts and goblins come to mind, so what better course to consider than "Jung on UFOs."

Upcoming Courses for Fall Term 2024
Developing Spiritual Literacy, Tuesdays, 9/17 (recording), 10/15, 11/19, 12/17, 1/21, 2/18, 3/18, 4/15, 5/20; 7-9PM; (EDT/EST); via Zoom; $120

Few Westerners understand what ‘spiritual literacy’ means. We will discuss the 9 forms of spiritual literacy and how life becomes different when you are able to read and see patterns, guidance, support and help that are all around you. We will explore synchronicities, paradox, awakened awareness, blocks to becoming spiritual literate, Jungian concepts of spirituality, conscious intent and clear seeing as well as the difference between the old and new paradigms. This informational and experiential course will lead students through exercises and practices to add to your treasure trove of gifts as spiritual beings having a human experience. You will develop your perception and ability to see in a spiritual sense and have tools and exercises that will continue to support you in your inner work and soul work. Co-Led by Sue Mehrtens & Kimia Maleki.

Jung and Native Wisdom Traditions, Thursdays, Oct. 2,9,16,23; 7-9PM EDT); via Zoom; $60
Jung had great respect for the myths, legends and traditions of native peoples. What is not so widely known is that some Native Americans recognized the parallels between their traditions and Jung’s psychology. This course traces these parallels, to explicate both Jung’s own thought and the wisdom of Native American cultures. The format is reading/discussion, using Jung and Native authors, including Joseph Epes Brown and Vine Deloria Jr.
Jung and the Paranormal, Oct. 30, Nov. 6,13,20; 7-9PM (EDT); via Zoom; $60
Jung had an abiding interest in both psychology and parapsychology, writing about psi, meeting with psychics and clairvoyants, experiencing haunted houses, and urging more study of paranormal phenomena for the wealth of insights they could offer to a deeper understanding of the psyche and its processes. In this student-generated workshop the format is experiential: dozens of exercises serve to foster participants' own psychic abilities. Everyone is psychic; learn how your abilities manifest in this hands-on program.

A major interest of Jung’s in the last 10 years of his life was the phenomenon of Ufos—flying saucers—and he had friends and family collect data from all over the world. The widespread interest in Ufos was suggestive to Jung of a shift underway in mass consciousness.
