Introduction to Cabala

Print thisPrint this

An introduction to a major Jewish mystical tradition, including an examination of its roots in Hellenistic occult science, Gnosticism, and numerology. Among the elements considered are the Tree of Life, the sefirot, and the allegorical interpretation of the Bible. Readings from major cabalists and cabalistic works like Zohar, Sefir Bahir, Sefir Yetzirah and Sefir Ha-Etz Chaim are included. Because mysticism is more an experience than a head trip, students will be introduced to many cabalistic exercises, techniques and processes designed to encourage the personal experience of God.
